Bruce A. Roberts, 85, of New Boston, Michigan, passed away on July 12, 2016. Bruce was born May 22, 1931 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was the son of the late Ralph W. Roberts and Edith M. (King) Roberts.

Bruce enjoyed playing bridge, roller-skating, hunting, fishing, and golfing. In his younger years he was a competitive roller-skater. Bruce was a Southgate public school teacher for thirty years, teaching government and drama. He directed plays for the high school students and organized their senior trips.

To cherish his memory he leaves his wife of 53 years; Susan J. Roberts of New Boston, one son; Bruce A. Roberts Jr. of Huron Township, one daughter; Karen M. Seltz of Phoenix, Arizona, five grandchildren; Bruce Roberts III, Adam Roberts, Ciara Brooks, Bianca Seltz, and Sabina Seltz, one great grandchild; Gavin, and many nieces and nephews.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Kevin P. Roberts, and one sister; Gwen Veersma.

Friends may gather from 12:30pm to 8:00pm on Friday July 15, 2016, at Crane Funeral Home, 36885 Goddard Rd. Romulus, Michigan 48174,(734) 941-9200. The funeral service will be held on Saturday July 16, 2016 at 11:00am, with Rev. William Kren of Dearborn Congregational Church, officiating.
